To mark Mental Health Awareness week i submitted a poem to be chosen to go on display… and it was!
Mental health has been a massive part of my life in the last three years and my experiences have completely changed who i am today, thankfully for the better.
When i received the email to say my poem had been accepted i was so excited, having only been writing poetry for a short time I never expected to be chosen but was over the moon that i could share my work and connect with others. My poem was 1 of 20 to go on display and out of 40 entrants i was honoured that my work was picked.
I went to see the display on the 15th of May in Swindon at Baristocats cafe and met Scott and Sue who are two of the people behind the campaign and organised the display. I had a lovely time chatting with them and learning more about what they are doing and listening to their stories.
The work Scott is doing is incredible and I’m proud to be a part of this week. Monday also marked the launch of a new men’s mental health campaign which i will link that below for you to head over and read about.
